"Westside church of Christ". The Westside congregation met

for the first time on May 26, 1974, when 52 people assembled for worship at the Hollydale Elementary School.

In October of 1974, the little group moved to their present location on Macland Road where they met for three and one-half years in the renovated house which has long since been moved to another location.

Matt. 16:18 years later) celebrating retirement of the mortgage of the building and property. The congregation decided to change their name to the Macland Road church of Christ in March of 1987. By the end of 1988, plans were drawn for a major addition - a 642 seat, diamond-shaped auditorium surrounded by new classrooms and offices. The building was to be attached to the old metal building (which was to be converted to a fellowship hall and additional classrooms). The ground-breaking took place in the Spring of 1989 and the building was completed in the summer of 1990.
